care instructions

Brass and silver will naturally oxidise over time. Factors that influence oxidation is exposure to air, perfumes, body creams and the acidity of your skin.

Here are some tips to keep your jewellery shiny for longer:

1. Keep your jewellery packed away in an airtight container when you are not wearing it.

2. Only put your jewellery on after you have applied creams and perfumes and let said perfumes and creams settle on your skin before putting on your jewels.

3. Take your brass jewellery off when you swim or have a shower. Water is brass' enemy. If your brass jewellery gets wet, dry it straight away.

When my jewellery gets dirty, i wash it with warm soapy water and an old toothbrush. And when my jewellery gets tarnished i use a soft jewellery polishing cloth to bring it back to life. I have a limited number of small polishing cloths available that i sell at R50 each. Please let me know if you would be interested in purchasing one.

You are also very welcome to send or bring us your Skermunkil jewellery that needs a bit of love and care. We are happy to shine up your goodies if they have lost some of their sparkle.
